Martin Vopěnka

    September 8, 1963

This author, who aspired to be a writer from childhood, penned his first poems and later short stories while still in secondary school. Even then, his works pushed the boundaries of what was permissible, hinting at his independent spirit. He found an escape from an unloved academic path and authoritarian upbringing through exploring the outdoors and his writing. His creative output thus stems from a yearning for freedom and a deep interest in what lies beneath the surface.
