Aylmer Maude Series

Aylmer Maude and his wife Louise Maude were English translators of Tolstoy's works. Aylmer Maude also authored the biography of his friend Tolstoy; after many years spent in Russia, the Maudes dedicated the rest of their lives in England to translating Tolstoy's writings and promoting public interest in his work. Aylmer Maude was also involved in a number of progressive and idealistic causes during the early 20th century.
