Roger Gilbert-Lecomte Biography
May 18, 1907 – December 31, 1943
Roger Gilbert-Lecomte was a poet and co-founder of the artistic group and magazine Le Grand Jeu, associated with the surrealists but later excommunicated from their movement. He explored the effects of drugs, particularly morphine, driven by both artistic and sociological motivations. His poetry eerily predicted his own demise, which resulted from an infection caused by contaminated hypodermic needles.
