Lion Feuchtwanger

    July 7, 1884 – December 21, 1958

A prominent novelist and playwright of German Jewish heritage, this author was a vocal critic of the Nazi regime long before his forced emigration. Fleeing Europe during wartime and after a brief internment, he eventually found asylum in the United States. He lived in exile there until his death, his works reflecting a deep engagement with history and the human condition.
