After his "aperitif" book of models, Ten Women, which was a world success within five months of publication, Peter Lindbergh presented in 1997 his long-awaited larger title Images of Women, comprising the creative essence of his photographic work. Images of Women contains Lindbergh s classic fashion photos, his great portraits of actresses and pop stars such as Madonna, Tina Turner, Demi Moore, Milla Jovovitch, Catherine Deneuve, Charlotte Rampling, Daryl Hannah, and many, many more and, of course, all the photos of his supermodels that he has been saving up for his larger book. Images of Women thus provides a comprehensive overview of twenty years of artistic work of the highest level, showing Peter Lindbergh in his favourite role as a man who loves women.

    • The supermodel phenomenon has captured the 90s all over the globe, surpassing everyknown form of star cult. Peter Lindbergh, German photographer living in Paris, made a major contribution to the optical creation of this worldwide myth. The most beautiful and most celebrated supermodels owe many of their best photographs to Peter Lindbergh’s creativity, perception, and particularly his sensitive camera eye. In his first book Ten Women, published in 1996, Peter Lindbergh has devoted one chapter to each of his most beautiful young Naomi Campbell, Helena Christensen, Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista, Kristen McMenamy, Kate Moss, Tatjana Patitz, Claudia Schiffer, Christy Turlington and Amber Valetta. Fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld wrote a short foreword to the book, not devoid of a streak of melancholy. Argentinian star designer Juan Gatti composed the orderly format of this publication, now available in a softcover reprint.

Although he’s most widely known for his artistic vision of the fashion world, Peter Lindbergh is also a science fiction nut. This fun and fantastic collection of rarely seen photos demonstrates Lindbergh’s flair for the dramatic, the weird, and the downright spooky. These images of aliens and explosions, flying saucers and dumbstruck models venture into the realm of film and pop art, but they are every bit as glamorous as his fashion work. From UFOs over a modern city and frightened figures wrapped in mist, to an elegant couple witnessing a desert explosion and their capture by extraterrestials, Lindbergh’s attention to detail, his sophisticated sense of irony, as well as his wit and charm make these colorful explosive photos a dynamic addition to an already brilliant career.
