Der großformatige Bildband präsentiert über 300 Bilder aus Lindberghs vierzigjähriger Karriere, die seinen humanistischen Ansatz und filmischen Stil widerspiegeln. Ein frühes Highlight war die Zusammenarbeit mit Rei Kawakubo für eine Commes-des-Garçons-Kampagne, die Lindberghs kreative Freiheit förderte. In den folgenden Jahren arbeitete er mit Größen der Modebranche wie Azzedine Alaïa und Karl Lagerfeld zusammen, wobei gegenseitiger Respekt die Grundlage dieser Beziehungen bildete. The catalogue presents more then 60 works of two world famous photographers. For the first time this catalogue leads along photographs by Peter Lindbergh and Garry Winogrand, who are setting apart with 'women' and 'street photography'. Next to works from the world famous series 'Women are Beautiful' by Winogrand, the catalogue presents partially unpublished works by Lindbergh, which he has shot on street during some fashion shootings. The same time the photographs perform a substantive discourse on truthfulness of street photography, centered around the major themes 'directing', 'authenticity' and 'reality'. The exhibition 'A Different Vision on Fashion Photography' is an ode to Lindbergh?s multi-faceted oeuvre from 1978 to the present day. Regarded as one of the most influential fashion photographers, the multimedia exhibition is presented in a thematic approach marking his creative development and focusing on his themes, imaginary world and passions through the years, into nine different sections: Supermodels, Couturiers, Zeitgeist, Dance, The Darkroom, The Unknown, Silver Screen, Icons and an exclusive Rotterdam gallery.
