Antonio Pigafetta Biography

Antonio Pigafetta was a Venetian scholar and explorer who chronicled the first circumnavigation of the globe. Serving as Ferdinand Magellan's assistant, he meticulously documented the expedition, providing an invaluable firsthand account of this groundbreaking voyage. His journal also proved instrumental in translating the Philippine language Cebuano, marking the first recorded instance of this linguistic documentation.
