Moses Hadas Series
June 25, 1900 – August 17, 1966
Moses Hadas was an American teacher and one of the leading classical scholars of the twentieth century. He combined his extensive knowledge of languages with a popularizing impulse to challenge prevailing classical methods focused on textual criticism and grammar. Hadas presented classical works, even in translation, as literary art worthy of study. His approach, akin to New Criticism, was also utilized in television and radio, making classical literature accessible to a wider audience.
