Ernst Niekisch Book order
May 23, 1889 – May 23, 1967
Ernst Niekisch emerged as a prominent figure of German national Bolshevism during the interwar period, advocating for a unique synthesis of socialist and nationalist ideologies. He strongly opposed the prevailing pacifism within the Social Democratic Party, emphasizing the importance of nationalism and attempting to steer the party in that direction, which ultimately led to his expulsion. Throughout his intellectual journey, Niekisch maintained a critical stance towards Hitler, believing he lacked genuine socialist principles. In his later years, after the workers' uprising in the GDR, he moved to the FRG, having shed his earlier nationalist convictions.
