Bookbot

Who are we?

We are a modern start-up that gives used books a second chance. In the past, previously used books have mostly been thrown away. At Bookbot, we believe that’s a horrible waste. That’s why we made it our mission to find a way to give books that have already told their story to someone a new purpose for another one. We are selling second-hand-books.

How does it work?

It’s actually very simple. If you have a book lying around at home that you are sure you won’t read again, send it to us. We will take your book, photograph it, and sell it in our online shop. Once the book has found a new buyer, we send you a commission, and your book finds a new home where it can bring joy again. At the same time, you can browse and purchase a new book from us. We now offer over a million titles, ranging from novels and literary classics to horror, sci-fi, and thrillers, but we have comics and hidden treasures as well.

Our mission

Although our roots lie in the beautiful city of Prague, we want to reach the whole world. You can already find us in Germany, Austria, and Slovakia, but our ambitions don’t stop there. Not only do we want to make a name for ourselves and offer you books at great prices, but we’ve also set our sights on France, Italy, Spain, and the Netherlands. Who knows where our journey will take us next?

Recycling is also important to us because selling second-hand books saves paper, conserves resources, and promotes sustainability.

We are more than you think

Of course, we mainly sell books, but we do much more than that:

  • Buying and selling – You can hand in your books to us, but you can also order new ones.
  • Reliability – You can count on our service. Your only task is to send us your books. We take care of the rest.
  • Recycling – Not only do we „recycle“ books, but our office furniture and shelves have also been used by other companies before or were made by us.
  • DIY – If we need something, we simply make it ourselves.
  • Spreading joy – As a modern start-up, we don’t want to stick to rigid communication conventions. We bring fun, joy, wordplays, and, when the mood strikes, ambitious and absolutely absurd alliterations.
