Biventricular epicardial augmentation of the failing heart
Authors
More about the book
This thesis investigated a biventricular epicardial augmentation technology for the treatment of advanced congestive heart failure. Design concepts of the implant and driving system for the save interaction with the heart are presented. The results from a first in vivo proof-of-concept study in a drug-induced porcine failing heart model are then shown. In addition, in silico data from finite element simulations are used to gain deeper insight into supporting the failing heart with such a device.
