More about the book
Antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) are promising alternatives to fight antibiotic resistant microorganisms. Researchers have found more than 5000 AMPs. Efficient production processes however are scarce. One of the most promising approaches to overcome this hurdle is the recombinant protein production. The process development is quite complex and time consuming and there is a lack of strategies and workflows and thus researchers and process engineers are seeking for a systematic approach to shorten development times and decrease development costs. Therefore, the systematic approach developed in this work to build up a process development platform for AMPs utilizing the expression host Pichia pastoris (P. pastoris) innovating and highly promising.
