More about the book
The amount of wastes generated in OECD Member countries is continuously increasing and governments are having to contend with this growing problem and its costs. These proceedings contain the papers presented at a workshop allowing government officials and representatives from industries and environmental organizations to share experiences. The first volume of this proceedings focuses on the minimization of five specific waste streams (packaging, electronic scrap, lead-acid batteries, metal plating wastes, and end-of-life vehicles). The second includes an evaluation of five cross-cutting issues related to waste minimization (prioritising waste streams, measurement/evaluation of waste streams, conditions which favor or discourage waste minimization, and extended producer responsibility) as well as the conclusions and recommendations made at the workshop.
