Leaders in business often misunderstand the integral roleemotional intelligence plays in successfully leading organizationsto success. However, fewstudies have explored the relationship between emotionalintelligence and effective leadership. Although there are numerousways effective leadership can be gauged, one sign of effectiveleadership can be seen in the way a leader chooses a leadershipstyle with which to lead a team. This book integrates these twoideas and examines the the impact of the level of emotionalintelligence possessed by a leader on individual leadership styleselection in the telecommunications industry. Level of emotionalintelligence was measured by the Mayer Salovey Caruso EmotionalIntelligence Test (MSCEIT) and leadership style selection wasmeasured by the Managerial Style Questionnaire (MSQ).
