More about the book

Theodor Fontane's work encompasses five volumes, each exploring different regions of Brandenburg. The first volume, focusing on the County of Ruppin, was created between 1859 and 1861 and first published in 1862, with subsequent revisions. The text is based on the 1892 Wohlfeilen edition. The second volume, covering the Oderland, was developed from 1860 to 1863, with its first printing in 1863, also following the 1892 edition. The third volume, Havelland, was produced between 1863 and 1872, first published in 1873, and adheres to the same 1892 text. The fourth volume, Spreeland, spans from 1859 to 1881, first appearing in 1882, and is similarly based on the Wohlfeilen edition. The final volume, Funf Schlosser, was created between 1880 and 1888, with its first edition released in 1889. This new edition is presented in a large format of 210 x 297 mm, featuring a two-column layout. The compilation is edited by Karl-Maria Guth and is based on the comprehensive works of Fontane published between 1959 and 1975 by Nymphenburger Verlagshandlung, ensuring an authoritative representation of his literary contributions.
