The aim of this work is the description of the relationship between pronunciation of phonetics and pronunciation of phonographs. The first part of this work is the history and the modern background of the theory of grammatology, the classification of Chinese characters by Xu Shen’s publication Explaining and Analyzing Characters (Shuō Wén Jiě Zì 说文解字) and modern approaches to the classification. The main focus is on the phonographs. The second part is the analysis which was performed on the corpora of 3 500 the most frequent characters of modern Chinese. The pronunciation of each character was defined on the basic of seven variants of accordance with pronunciation of an initial, a final or a tone of syllable and one dissension.
