More about the book
Focusing on the lived experiences of five Afghan Muslim men who immigrated to the U.S. as interpreters during the Afghanistan War, this qualitative study explores their identity formation. It highlights how their pre- and post-migration experiences influence their sense of self. The findings reveal a complex blending and renegotiation of identities, as these individuals retain elements of their native culture while integrating aspects of their new environment that resonate with their personal perspectives.
