Focusing on the development of early churches in Rome, this study combines history, archaeology, theology, and social analysis. The author examines inscriptional evidence alongside significant literary texts, including Paul's Letter to the Romans and writings from early Christian figures. The updated English edition is extensive, structured in six parts with fifty-one chapters and four appendices, offering a detailed exploration of church leadership and the interactions between Christians and Judeans in Rome.
