Lenin's early life was marked by exceptional intelligence and a strong revolutionary spirit, shaped significantly by the execution of his brother, Alexander, which influenced his political path. Despite his academic excellence at Simbirsk High School and later at Kazan University, where he became a prominent figure in revolutionary circles, he rejected terrorist methods for achieving change. His experiences with oppressive tsarist authorities and the harsh realities of peasant life deeply informed his views, driving him to actively participate in student protests against repressive regulations.
