Začal podzim a na Pettsona padly chmury. Podaří se kocourku Fiškusovi dědu rozveselit? Léto je nenávratně fuč, venku se ochladilo a za oknem panuje pochmurné počasí. Děda Pettson má špatnou náladu. Fiškus se dědu snaží všemožně rozptýlit a vylákat ho k jezeru na ryby, jenže se mu to nedaří. Na Pettsona nic neplatí, ani když kocourek brázdí v kastrolu po kuchyňské podlaze nebo strčí dědovi do ruky šňůru s přivázanou rybí trofejí. Nakonec se rozhodne, že dědu přelstí a nastraží na něj past. Jenže to by nebyl Fiškus, aby u toho zase něco nevyvedl! Podaří se kocourkovi Pettsona nakonec rozveselit?
Starý Pettersson zachránil kohouta z hrnce a farma má najednou o jednoho obyvatele víc. Slepice jsou patřičně nadšené a obdivují nádherného kohouta s krásným opeřením a silným hlasem. Jenže Fiškus se nemůže spřátelit s kohoutem - nelíbí se mu, že slepice mají nového idola, a kohoutovo časté kokrhání mu také vadí, zejména brzy ráno. Protože se Petterssonovi a slepicím kokrhání líbí, musí Fiškus vymyslet nějakou lest...
Každičké ráno je to stejné. Děda Pettson si spokojeně pochrupuje zachumlaný v peřině, když vtom ho probudí prapodivné zvuky, které znějí asi takhle: bong-kchrrr-bong-kchrrr-bong-kchrrr. Kocourek Fiškus totiž dostal novou postel s báječným pérováním, na které se náramně skáče. Jenže Pettson už má toho jeho hopsání ve čtyři ráno plné zuby. Kdo má v takovém randálu spát? Jednoho dne děda kocourkovi pohrozí, že jestli s tím nepřestane, budou muset jeho postýlku odstěhovat jinam. A Fiškusovi to připadá jako dobrý nápad. Pak bude moct skákat na posteli kdykoliv se mu zachce! A tak si sbalí saky paky a odstěhuje se do kadibudky.Ale je to opravdu taková zábava bydlet sám?
