The 8 papers presented were selected from 142 paper submissions. The papers cover the following topics: cloud computing fundamentals; services science foundations for cloud computing; cloud computing platforms and applications; and cloud computing enabling technologies.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the European Design Science Symposium, EDSS 2011, held in Leixlip, Ireland, in October 2011 held in conjunction with the Intel European Research and Innovation Conference, ERIC 2011. The 15 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from various submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on design science and processes; evaluation and utility; and applying design science.

The papers in these proceedings present selected and revised articles presented at the 1st International Conference on Business Innovation and Information Technology, which was held at Dublin City University (Ireland) in January 2008. The conference focused on real-world business applications and innovations associated with information technology. The purpose of the conference was to provide a premier forum for the presentation and discussion of business innovations associated with Information Technology and to provide a platform for both researchers and practitioners to exchange knowledge and ideas and to learn from each other.

The International Business Informatics Challenge is an annual event which aims to exchange experiences and findings between students and researchers in Business Informatics and Information Systems and to encourage research in the field. With these proceedings we provide an indication of the richness of topics in Business Informatics. Papers include themes such as the role of information technology (IT) in business process management, the economical impact of IT investment in organisations, strategic information systems (IS) planning in organisations as well as methods and techniques in IS development. A balanced mix of theoretical papers and case studies is presented.
