Kerstin Gier is a German author of novels for adults and young adults.
Kerstin Gier started writing novels for women when she was more or less unemployed as a graduate teacher. Her debut novel "Männer und andere Katastrophen" was made into a film and her other novels have also been very popular and won numerous awards.
Kerstin Gier lives as a freelance author with her husband, son, two cats and three chickens in a village near Cologne.
She studied German, musicology and English, but eventually got a degree in communication psychology. In 1995 she started writing novels for women, which have been very successful in Germany. However, she only broke into the world with her trilogy "Jewels" about love and time travel. The books have already been translated into a number of languages and films have been made.
