Heinz-Klaus Metzger was a German music critic and theorist who became a prominent voice in the discourse surrounding avant-garde music. His early studies in piano and composition, followed by encounters with leading figures in new music, solidified his role as a significant theoretician. Metzger was instrumental in the promotion and subsequent critique of serialism and was among the first European commentators on John Cage. Co-founding the ensemble Musica Negativa with Rainer Riehn, he championed radical new music and significantly contributed to the understanding and development of contemporary musical concepts through his extensive work in musicology and criticism.

With the Arab countries of Egypt, Morocco and the OMAN we were able to gain very different experiences regarding the behavior towards foreign tourists. In Egypt, we noticed the great need for security, as evidenced by the armed police convoy escorting us through the desert to Luxor. The Moroccans were extremely hostile. While in the OMAN a great tolerance and friendliness was felt.
