Arthur J. Eddy Books
Arthur Jerome Eddy was an American lawyer, art collector, and critic. He was a prominent member of the first generation of American modern art collectors. Unlike other early American collectors of modernist works who were almost exclusively interested in French modernism, Eddy also collected the work of German Expressionists and Wassily Kandinsky. After Eddy's death his collection was dispersed, but a part of it was reassembled by the Art Institute of Chicago in 1931, forming the core of the museum's modern art collection.
