In a globalized world, companies must navigate diverse cultural backgrounds and mindsets, making ethical behavior rooted in common standards increasingly vital for international cooperation. This work explores business ethics within this context, focusing on ethical standards in India and Germany. The Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW) partnered with Gujarat Technological University (GTU) in Ahmedabad, leading to a two-week visit by DHBW Stuttgart students to GTU in early 2015. Each student researched a topic related to the book's themes, resulting in a collection of papers. These papers were informed by lectures, company visits, and research conducted during their stay. Topics include Corporate Values and Ethics in India/Germany, Business Ethics and Leadership, and Management Ethics in Multinational Companies. Prof. Dr. Friedrich Augenstein, a professor at DHBW Stuttgart and head of the Business Administration department, also consults in strategic management and development of management tools. Prof. Dr. Ramesh Shah, a professor of Intercultural Communication and International Management at Euregio University College, has been a visiting professor at DHBW Stuttgart and Heilbronn, and runs EUROASIA Shah Consultants in Germany.

Business relations between India and Germany are increasingly significant, with Germany being India's primary trade partner in the EU. Conversely, India ranks as a crucial trade partner for the EU and Germany. This growing partnership has led to enhanced cooperation at the university level. The Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW) has collaborated with Gujarat Technological University (GTU) in Ahmedabad and its affiliate, the Parul Institutes in Vadodara. In early 2013, a group of DHBW Stuttgart students visited the Parul Institutes, where they spent two weeks working on topics relevant to this publication. Each student's paper is based on lectures, company visits, and research conducted during their stay in India. The papers address various subjects comparing India and Germany, including market entry strategies, subsidies, corporate governance, economic development, infrastructure, cultural issues, demographic trends, international treaties, economic relationships, workforce education, and university-company cooperation. Prof. Dr. Friedrich Augenstein, a professor at DHBW Stuttgart and Head of the Business Administration – Service Management department, oversees this initiative.
