Dietmar Seyffert, born in 1943 in Liberêc (Sudetenland), is a distinguished graduate of the Paluccaschule Dresden and the Theaterhochschule Leipzig, with additional studies in psychology and pedagogy. He earned his doctorate at the Conservatory "R. Korsakow" in Leningrad. For 25 years, he was a dancer, soloist, and choreographer at the Deutsche Staatsoper Berlin, while also serving as chief choreographer in Cairo and teaching choreography at the Theater-University Leipzig. From 1979 to 1988, he held the position of Art Director and chief choreographer at the "Große Oper" Leipzig. In 1987, he became a professor at the University of Drama "Ernst Busch" in Berlin. Seyffert has directed and choreographed for numerous prestigious opera, drama, and ballet stages worldwide, including in Basel, Berlin, Belgrade, Paris, Vienna, San Francisco, New York, Mexico City, New Delhi, Tokyo, and Kyoto. He served as president of the International Theatre Institute-UNESCO Paris and led the Dance Section of the National Theater Association. Seyffert has received major awards and gold medals from various countries and has staged notable ballets such as "Bunny Tails," "The Rite of Spring," and "Romeo and Julietta." He has published extensively in scientific and research fields and has directed films, including the award-winning "Clown of God" at the Venice Dance Film Festival. He currently resides in Berlin.
