This author grew up immersed in the rural life of a dairy farm, where community gatherings for singing were a cherished tradition. During college, their focus was on essay writing. Following seventeen years of farming and crafting banjos, a collaborative writing journey began, sparked by a fellow storyteller's captivating narratives. This partnership led to two decades of teaching on Native American reservations, a period rich with writing and isolated living. Now settled in Kentucky, the author continues to teach and write.
