Scott Bailey Books

This is a summary of European travel notes and experiences of Scott, Melanie and Drew Bailey complied over a fifteen year period 1995 - 2011. It is not a travel guide, comprehensive wine book nor is it a substitute for the encyclopedic dining guides. We report on our food, wine and travel experiences; Highly Recommended (excellent); Recommended (very good/good) or Not Recommended. In certain circumstances, we may defer as Judgment Reserved. Our trip style is in the nature of assimilating into European culinary and oenological life and living it as a native does, rather than a tourist on a once-in-a-lifetime European grand swing to see all the touristic sights. These notes are presented to the reader as a series of regional experiences and practical tips that should increase your enjoyment of participating in the finer points of French and European ways of life. Exploring the complexities of coming-of-age in rural South Mississippi, the poems feature a central character, Gigolo, who shares his struggles and resilience. His journey is marked by a deep connection to nature, reflecting both its beauty and harshness. Through his confessions, the collection reveals themes of survival, vulnerability, and the duality of existence—whole yet broken, dying yet loving. The poems celebrate adversity while highlighting the essential wounds that shape the speaker's evolution, ultimately portraying a profound sense of life and perseverance.

All animals acquire, process and use information to guide their behaviors in complex, changing environments. As a subject of interdisciplinary nature, the meaning and uses of intelligence across a variety of species such as invertebrates, aquatic species, avian species, and non-human primates was explored at the 2001 Krost Symposium on the Evolution of Intelligence. By comparing the adaptive behavior of animals with that of humans, the authors discovered similarities and differences among species and explored the origin and nature of those differences. The product of this symposium represents a wide array of methodologies (e.g. structured observational case studies, controlled multi-group experiments, and computer models) and species. The work presented in this issue represents a significant step towards a better understanding of the evolution of biological and artificial intelligence and provides an exciting framework for future research.
