Hannie van Genderen

    Hannie van Genderen is a clinical psychologist and a supervisor and trainer in cognitive behavioral therapy and schema therapy. Since 1987, she has been involved in scientific research at Maastricht University concerning the treatment of a wide range of psychological disorders. From its inception in 1996, she championed the introduction of schema-focused psychotherapy for personality disorders in the Netherlands. She was trained by pioneers in the field, including J. Young, A. Beck, and C. Padesky. Her expertise has further expanded to include schema-focused group therapy training. Van Genderen was instrumental in founding the Register of Schema Therapy and the International Society of Schema Therapy (ISST), holding leadership positions in both organizations.
