W. Murray Series

William Murray was an educational adviser and later headmaster of a school for students with learning difficulties. His research in the 1950s revealed that a small number of key words account for the vast majority of everyday communication. Building on this insight, Murray developed 'The Key Words Reading Scheme,' a method utilizing a core vocabulary for teaching early reading. His pedagogical approach focused on efficiently and progressively introducing children to language through simple narratives.
