Murphy And His Rock Baby is based on a true story about a 31-year-old American Bald Eagle that built a nest around a rock in the hopes it would hatch. Murphy's rock indeed did "hatch" and he then had to figure out how to raise his Rock Baby so it could become an independent eagle. While Murphy was perhaps reacting to his natural instincts when he built his nest, raising an eaglet is a not as easy as it seems! This is a story about hope, love, and doing the right thing. Murphy lives at the World Bird Sanctuary near St. Louis, Missouri.
