Siegfried Flügge

Siegfried Flügge was a German theoretical physicist whose work in nuclear physics significantly contributed to the development of nuclear weapons. His research was pivotal to the German nuclear weapons project during World War II. Post-war, he lectured at German universities and served as a visiting professor in the United States, fostering international scientific exchange. Flügge also played a key role in editing the prestigious 54-volume Handbuch der Physik, a seminal reference work in the field.
