Abraham Léon Book order
Abraham Leon was a Belgian Jewish Trotskyist theorist and party leader who became instrumental in sustaining revolutionary Marxist thought in Belgium during World War II. Originally from Poland, his journey led him from Zionism to Trotskyism after settling in Belgium, inspired by the militant workers' movement. His leadership and writings, particularly as an editor of illegal newspapers, were crucial in organizing the Belgian Trotskyist movement under the most challenging circumstances. Leon actively sought to connect with other sections of the Fourth International across wartime Europe, advocating for a revolutionary strategy among workers. Despite brutal Gestapo torture after his arrest and subsequent deportation to Auschwitz, he maintained contact with comrades, leaving a legacy tied to the continuation of revolutionary struggle.
