The author asks how far the extension of employer-supported childcare serves as a driver for higher maternal labor supply. She addresses this question by categorizing employer-supported childcare as an efficiency wage introduced by the employer to increase the working volume of mothers. Applying various impact evaluation techniques in an econometric analysis, the author concludes that the availability of employer-supported childcare has a positive impact on the length and working volume of mothers who return back to work after giving birth. Furthermore, the usage of employer-supported childcare by mothers with pre-school age children influences the amount of agreed and actual working hours positively.

The focus of this diploma thesis is on the necessity for companies to develop effective knowledge management strategies in response to the shift from the industrial age to the knowledge era. It highlights the challenges in identifying viable strategies and offers insights into employees' perspectives on knowledge management and the evaluation of its implementation. The research addresses a gap in understanding how employees perceive these processes, providing valuable insights for businesses aiming to enhance their competitiveness through knowledge management.

Der zweite Band mit Beiträgen des Giessener Forschungskolloquiums ist das Ergebnis eines Expertenworkshops zum Thema 'Kooperative Arbeitsformen im E-Learning Fremdsprachen und das Problem der Online-Tutorierung'. Es befasst sich mit kooperativen Lern- und Arbeitsformen beim Fremdsprachenlernen und der Lehrerbildung, die durch den Einsatz digitaler Medien unterstützt werden. Ein besonderer Fokus liegt auf der Frage, wie solche kooperativen Lern- und Arbeitsphasen durch den/die Lehrende oder das computergestützte Material eingeleitet und gesteuert werden können - ein Frage, die in der Diskussion um das kooperative Lernen häufig vernachlässigt oder sogar tabuisiert wird. Die Beiträge diskutieren zum einen den Nutzen spezifischer Software oder spezifischer internetgestützter Materialien zur Unterstützung kooperativer Phasen beim Fremdsprachenlernen. Zum anderen wird computergestütztes kooperatives Arbeiten in Hochschulseminaren der Lehrerausbildung analysiert.
