Sir Roger Casement Books
Roger Casement was a humanitarian campaigner, Irish patriot, poet, revolutionary, and nationalist. His early career as a British consul brought him fame for his reports on human rights abuses in the Congo and Peru. These experiences, coupled with the Boer War, led him to adopt anti-imperialist and ultimately Irish republican and separatist views. He sought German support for an Irish rebellion against British rule, a pursuit that ultimately led to his conviction and execution for treason.
