Lynn S. Neal investigates how popular culture, from romance novels to fashion design, shapes our understanding and experience of American religion. As an award-winning Religious Studies teacher, her innovative research focuses on the late twentieth and early twenty-first centuries. Neal offers new perspectives on contemporary evangelicalism by engaging with the authors and readers of Christian romance novels. Her work also explores the history of religious intolerance in the U.S. and examines Christian figures and imagery within high fashion.
