A former anthropologist, Kali now crafts historical and speculative fiction. Her writing, deeply rooted in her home on unceded Yuggera land in Meanjin Brisbane, explores complex themes through a unique lens. Kali also serves as a tutor in the writing program at The University of Queensland, sharing her insights and nurturing emerging writers.
