Maria Jastrzębska - poetka, tłumaczka, redaktorka i animatorka kultury. Urodziła się 28 marca 1953 roku w Warszawie, cztery lata później wyemigrowała na stałe z rodziną do Londynu, w latach 1973 - 76 studiowała psychologię w Sussex. Mieszka w Brighton. W roku 2012 w ramach projektu Między dwoma światami - Poezja i przekład - Between Two Worlds. Poetry and Translation Biblioteka Brytyjska przygotowała dla archiwum nagrania kilkunastu jej utworów. Jej wiersze były tłumaczone na języki: polski, francuski, fiński, słoweński.
