Louis Pasteur

Louis Pasteur was a French chemist and microbiologist renowned for his groundbreaking discoveries concerning the causes and prevention of diseases. His work significantly reduced mortality from childbed fever and led to the development of the first rabies vaccine. Pasteur's experiments provided crucial support for the germ theory of disease, and his name is now synonymous with a process that prevents spoilage in milk and wine. He is considered one of the principal founders of microbiology, with his contributions also extending to chemistry, notably the molecular basis of crystal asymmetry.
