Bahaa Taher

Bahaa Taher was an Egyptian novelist and storyteller whose works often engaged in social commentary. A key figure in the literary circles of the 1960s, he was one of the writers associated with the Gallery 68 movement. His early career in broadcasting was disrupted by political persecution, leading him to a period of exile in Switzerland where he worked as a United Nations translator. Upon his return to Egypt, he became actively involved in cultural life, garnering significant accolades for his literary output and establishing himself as one of the most widely read contemporary Arab novelists.
