Harold Guard was a war correspondent whose 24-year journalism career was marked by acclaimed and sometimes controversial reporting from the Pacific during World War II. His dispatches often brought him into conflict with officialdom. After retiring from journalism in 1959, he moved to England's south coast, where he lived until his death.
