Kate Adair's "Almost There!" is her account of life, woven from childhood during World War II in England, through her years in a convent, to the almost finished product in the Michigan of a new century. It's hard to say why one autobiography is better than another. "Angela's Ashes" won with its distinctive style - quite unlike any other. Serious autobiographies are a dime a dozen - even though they command fortunes. But here is one with a light hearted touch that makes of an ordinary life an extraordinary account.
