A book from the U.S. underground, covering Abbie--in disguise--interviewing people, touring the FBI building, and organizing a campaign to save the St. Lawrence River. The articles are creative, funny, nervy, and political.
Abbie Hoffman Books
Abbott Howard Hoffman, known as Abbie Hoffman, was a prominent American social and political activist who became an icon of the 1960s youth rebellion and radical activism. In his autobiography, he described himself as an anarchist. Hoffman was a co-founder of the Youth International Party, or "Yippies." He played a central role in protests during the 1968 Democratic National Convention, leading to his trial along with others in the "Chicago Eight" (later "Chicago Seven") proceedings.

A driving force behind the social revolution of the 1960s and 1970s, Hoffman inspired a generation to challenge the status quo. Meant as a practical guide for the aspiring hippie, Steal This Book captures Hoffman's puckish tone. Outrageously illustrated by R. Crumb, it nevertheless conveys a serious message to all would-be revolutionaries: You don't have to take it anymore. Illustrations.
