Features the history of Moroccan Sufism through the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries C E and a study of Moroccan Sufi doctrine, focusing on the concept of sainthood. This work offers an analysis of Sufi institutions, an examination of hagiography as a source for history, and a sociological analysis of three hundred biographies of saints.
