Kaori Becker

Kaori Becker is an author and cook specializing in Japanese cuisine, with a particular focus on sweets and baked goods. Her interest in Japanese home cooking, stemming from her "hapa" (half-Japanese) upbringing in the Bay Area, was inspired by her mother's culinary traditions. Together with her mother, Becker leads cooking classes at Kaori's Kitchen in the Bay Area, renowned for their popular mochi-making sessions. These hands-on classes, featuring unique five-course mochi-making experiences, directly inspired her authorship of Mochi Magic.
