The sister of German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche, she became his guardian and literary executor. Her distortions of Nietzsche’s ideas were largely responsible for the subsequent misperception of Nietzsche as an early philosopher of fascism. The discovery of her forgeries and the original texts profoundly influenced later interpretations of Nietzsche’s philosophy.
