G.R Elton Books

Elton was the pre-eminent Tudor historian of his day, a strong advocate for the primacy of political and administrative history. He made very significant contributions to the ongoing debate on the philosophy of historical practice. Furthermore, he exerted a powerful influence on the historical profession, notably through his presidency of the Royal Historical Society.
