This thesis investigates the impact of propionate (C3) and β-hydroxybutyrate (BHB) on mRNA levels of reference and energy balance-related genes in bovine adipose tissue explants. It explores their differential effects, identifies stable reference genes for qPCR normalization, and establishes a primary preadipocyte culture to assess gene expression during differentiation.
