Selma, a hen on a farm, faces the fate of being sold for soup. When a kind girl named Seleene sees her at the market, her parents decide to buy Selma. Along with her two friends, Selma finds a new and wonderful home with Seleene's family, transforming her life for the better.
Fladdy, a little bat, struggles to catch bugs and often goes hungry. After oversleeping, he follows his friends to a village but can't find them. He discovers a girl playing inside a house, who invites him in. Fladdy eats, meets new friends, and eventually plays with both the girl and his bat friends every day.
