Jill S. Alexander Books
Emerging from a rural East Texas background, a deep appreciation for novels developed later in life. With limited access to books beyond a set of encyclopedias, early literary influences came from church hymnals and the vivid tales of eccentric relatives. Inspired by the narrative-driven country music on the radio, a passion for storytelling took root, leading to the creation of original lyrics and stories by second grade. Encounters with a diverse cast of travelers at local eateries fueled a fascination with the wider world and its myriad experiences. This rich tapestry of influences, combined with a later love for fiction, shaped a dedicated focus on literature and creative writing throughout higher education.
